Bob Dylan finally broke his silence about winning a Nobel Peace Prize this past week, coming a long way from a young struggling musician who waited tables at the local bar in Greenwhich Village in the late 50s. Imagine having a server bring your order who would eventually win such a coveted award?

As we inch towards the holidays, high school and college students finds themselves taking odd jobs to make extra money before the beginning of the year. What were a few of the interesting jobs our favorite rockers held in their youth? Take a look…

David Bowie was a butcher’s delivery boy while Mick Jagger at an early age worked as a porter at Bexley Psychiatric Hospital. Debbie Harry of Blondie was indeed a Playboy Bunny in New York while Rod Stewart worked as a gravedigger at the Highgate Cemetery in London.

The Rolling Stones Keith Richards worked as a ball boy at a tennis club, Patti Smith once fixed toys at a toy factory. Art Garfunkel used to be a math tutor while a college student, and Tom Waits delivered pizzas before he became a star.
