Famous country singer, Sonny James, passed away earlier this week, so we thought it would be appropriate to honor him in the best way possible – discussing his legacy that he left behind.

James passed away Monday at the age of 87 while in hospice care. In his younger years, he recorded an astonishing 23 number one hits on the country charts.

Most would say that his biggest hit was “Young Love.” The song came out in 1956 and would hit the charts by early 1957. The song peaked at number one on Billboard’s country chart, spending nine week at that position.

James was on top of the world in the late 60s and early 70s, putting out 18 different number one hits from 1967-1972 on the US charts.

Sonny James was a wonderful singer, writer, and performer and we sure are sad to see him go.
