David Bowie lost his life to cancer a few weeks ago, and we’ve been looking at our favorite Bowie songs, here’s part two…

“Star Man” was released in 1972, and was a late addition to the album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and Spiders From Mars.” Ziggy was David’s alter ego and was considered by his peers to be a brilliant song.

“Suffragette City,” released in 1972, also comes from the “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and Spiders From Mars” and features Bruce Springsteen’s pianist Roy Britain.

“Golden Years” was a haunting chart topper from 1976 at a period in his lie where he was battling cocaine addiction. The song was performed on a rare appearance of “Soul Train.”

“Let’s Dance” was an MTV hit that brought a lot of new fans to his sound. Interestingly enough, Nile Rodgers of Chic credits David and this song for getting him into music.

“China Girl” from 1983 was also an MTV power play song, and recently Geeling Ng, the young woman that appeared in the MTV video, confessed that she’ll be forever indebted to David for turning her life around with that collaboration.
