David Gilmour Shares First Solo Project in Five Years

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour returns with his first new song in five years.

The project, titled “Yes, I Have Ghosts,” is a gentle, acoustic number with flourishes of strings. On it, Gilmour sings, “Yes, I have ghosts, not all of them dead/ Making dust of my dreams, spinning round and around, around in my head.”

Floyd called time with the 2014 release of The Endless River, though the prog-rock masters have keep the tunes flowing during the pandemic with a series of classic concert streams on YouTube.

In a recent statement, Gilmour spoke about how the audiobook format “has so much untapped potential, and I am surprised more musicians have not creatively collaborated with authors, narrators and audiobook producers in this way before. The two worlds seem to seamlessly link, and music can really help to bring audiobooks to life in unexpected new ways.”
