Philadelphia Walk of Fame’s New Inductees

You know that there is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it seems every state has a music hall of fame. One of the more prominent halls is the ‘Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame,’ and this year, Sister Sledge, The Soul Survivors, McFadden & Whitehead, and Patti LaBelle’s entire girl members of her original group Labelle, will be so honored.

Let’s hope the weather is nice in Philly, as the ceremony is scheduled for October 4th in the early evening, along Philly’s Avenue of the Arts. After the ceremony the gang will head over to the Fillmore for a more buttoned up event.

Who else is in the ‘Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame’? How about the greatest names in soul, such as Chubby Checker, Dick Clark, Bill Haley, Daryl Hall, John Oates, Jim Croce, Tammi Terrell, Teddy Pendergrass, Todd Rundgren, The Delfonics and The Trammps, Leon Huff, and Joan Jett.
