Ozzy Osbourne has been forced to take a break from his No More Tours 2 outing. A spokesperson for the rockstar announced on Tuesday that after initially postponing the first four dates of the upcoming European leg of the tour because of the flu, a follow-up doctor’s visit revealed a diagnosis of a severe upper-respiratory infection. As a result on doctor’s orders, Osbourne has been forced to postpone the tour’s entire UK and European swing.
According to a statement announcing the postponement, Osbourne’s doctor feared that the infection could “develop into pneumonia given the physicality of the live performances and the extensive travel schedule throughout Europe in harsh winter conditions.”
In a statement about the postponement of the tour, which was slated to kick off on Wednesday, January 30th, at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, Osbourne said, “I’m completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour. It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to shit. First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis. I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It’s being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologize to everyone.”
