Our Favorite Singers from the Isles – Part One

Great Britain, Ireland and Scotland have made significant contributions in music over the years, and we wanted to share a small list of current popular singers that you may not have realized from the Isles. There are so many we’ll want to share over two days. Here’s part one of ‘Our Favorite Singers from the Isles.’

The Cranberries, Proclaimers and Simple Minds are wonderful bands that filled the late 90s and early 2000’s with hit after hit. “Linger” from the Cranberries. “500 Miles” from the Proclaimers, and all the 80s and 90s hits from Simple Minds are still great radio tunes.

Ed Sheeran is now worth nearly $50 million dollars, has tons of tattoos, has won many music awards, and he’s only 24.

Sam Smith is only 24 years old, and been nominated for six Grammy Awards having won this year won Grammys for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song and Record of the Year. In addition Sam scored the SPCTRE Bond theme song.

U2 has sold over 100 million albums, moved heaven and earth in the work vs. Aids, and is likely to be the most significant group of activists and musicans of our day. Oh, and they are from Ireland.
