Often times rumors are untrue, and turn into urban legends. Here are three of our favorite myths, rumors, or un-truths from the music industry…

Duane Allman struck a Peach Truck in Macon GA and died, which is why the album is called “Eat a Peach.” Nope, sounds good, but Duane struck a lumber truck carrying a crane. I guess you can’t title an album “Struck a Lumber Trick.”

Momma Cass did not choke while eating a chicken sandwich. She had heart failure due to her obesity and the effects of her constant crash diets.

Paul is dead. This is the mother of all rumors, and surfaced in October of 1969. At the time it was believed, the remaining Beatles hid clues in the music, which let the world know Paul McCartney had died. Paul’s car was involved in an accident in mid-1969, and the rumor began. Sgt. Peppers showed a funeral wreath for Paul and the song “Revolution Number 9″ played backwards, revealed Paul is Dead. In addition, on the back of the Peppers album, Paul is wearing the patch OPS, for officially pronounced dead, but again none of these conclusions based on these half-truths were true.
