Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has made news again, announcing two nights ago during the 10th Anniversary/fundraiser of the Ron Clark Academy that she is donating $5 million dollars to the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, stunning the audience. Her generous donation will benefit the performing arts of the school, part of the private school’s fundraising effort.
Oprah and Ron are familiar with each other, as Ron was a special guest on the nationally broadcast ‘Oprah’ back in 2001. She referred to Ron as one of her favorite teachers. The momentum of the moment in 2001 spurred Hollywood to make a movie about the ingenious educator, producing ‘The Ron Clark Story’ starring Friends cast member Mathew Perry as the lead.
Oprah Winfrey’s estimated net worth is thought to be just north of $3 billion dollars.
