Olympics Adding Five Sports in 2020

Five new sporting competitions will be a part of the 2020 Olympics, and they are ones you will definitely get excited about. The International Olympic Committee will be adding baseball, softball, surfing, sports climbing, karate and skateboard. To the IOC, baseball and softball are considered the same sport, so that is why just five are technically added.

This move to sports like skateboard and surfing has to be to try to get the younger crowd into the Olympic games. It’s also pretty nice to see baseball and softball be a part of the Olympics because of how big of sports they are for men and women across the globe.

The 2020 Olympics will be taking place in Tokyo, while the 2016 Olympics are about underway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
