Ohio State’s Urban Meyer Placed on Paid Leave

There’s more going on in the sports world than the MLB trade deadline, we promise! For instance, the big news this week in the football world is that Urban Meyer, the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, has been placed on paid leave by the university pending investigation.

To give you the basics, former OSU assistant Zach Smith has been accused of physical abusing his wife in 2015 and there are questions as to Meyer’s knowledge of the matter. While he claims he had no idea it was happening, there are reports out that he did, in fact, know about the abuse that was taking place.

Who knows what will happen to Urban Meyer at this point, but we will surely find out before the football season begins.
