Here is a brief list of songs against the Vietnam war that were meant to be in your face. They weren’t so subtle about what the song was about and were proud of it!

“Born in the U.S.A.” by Bruce Springsteen could not have been more anti-war, questing the morality of killing our brothers in Vietnam. It’s one of the most profound anti-war songs ever written.

The mid-60s ballad “Eve of Destruction” by the late Barry McGuire posed the juxtaposing of being hypocritical to turn an eye to the death and destruction a war brings. This was the most powerful through provoking peace song ever written.

“Sky Pilot” by Eric Burdon and the Animals became an FM hit for its real and straightforward lyrics. There was no confusion as to what this anti-war song meant.

“Unknown Soldier” by the Doors became the mysterious alter ego of Jim Morrison at a time Jim struggled to find his writing voice. All of the members of the Doors are mentioned in the writing credits.
