Noel Gallagher Covered David Bowie at Mike Garson’s “A Bowie Celebration,” Amongst Def Leppard, Duran Duran, More

Saturday would have been David Bowie’s 75th birthday, and the musician’s pianist, Mike Garson, threw a live-streamed concert to honor the date for the second year in a row. 

The event consisted of performances by a number of notable artists covering Bowie’s hits. Noel Gallagher covered “Valentine’s Day,” Def Leppard did “Drive-In Saturday,” and Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and John Taylor took on “Let’s Dance. Evan Rachel Wood, Gary Oldman, 30 Seconds To Mars’ Rob Thomas, Walk The Moon, Living Colour, and more were also on hand to celebrate Bowie.

The live stream benefited the Save the Children organization, which was an important cause to Bowie and his legacy. 

Regarding A Bowie Celebration, organizer Mike Garson said, “It’s an honor to be able to continue to share David Bowie’s music with the world. I’m excited for everyone to be able to experience this very special show we’ve got in store in celebration of what would have been David’s 75th birthday with the bandmates he recorded and performed with, plus a great group of guest artists who he was such an influence to.”
