New Entries to the National Recording Registry

There will be the 25 new entries inducted into the upcoming class for the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry, including many of your favorite songs, recordings, albums and more. These new members of the national registry are singled out as the best, reflecting each contribution to the historical, and contribution to the sound of America. Here’s the relevant list of the new members…

The list within the 25 inductees include Bill Haley and his Comets’ 1954 single “(We’re Gonna) Rock Around the Clock” considered to be the birth of rock and roll, Fleetwood Mac’s classic 1977 album ‘Rumours,’ The Temptations’ 1964 classic “My Girl,” Chic’s 1978 “Le Freak,” “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” from the iconic Tony Bennett and the entire album or soundtrack from ‘The Sound of Music.’

Just for good measure, ‘An Evening with Groucho,’ the album, is also on the list. There are now over 500 entries, comprising of songs, albums, and voice recordings in the National Recording Registry.
