New Edition can say they are now found on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The band received their very own Hollywood Walk of Fame Star this past January 23. Jimmy Jam, original member and song writer of the band’s hits “You’re Not My Kind of Girl,” “If It Isn’t Love” and “Can You Stand the Rain” was part of the presentation, along with BET’s Stephen Hill.
New Edition began their journey in Boston (as did many later ‘Boy Bands’) and hit the charts big with the tune “Candy Girl” eventually earning multiple American Music Awards.
Original New Edition member Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill had larger than life solo careers, while members Bell, Bivins and DeVoe later became the popular group ‘Bell Biv DeVoe.’
