Movies Opening This Weekend – July 1st – 2016 [videos]

Summer may be moderate where you live, but Hollywood is burning with movies for all to see this weekend. It’s the long 4th of July weekend, so plan on activities outside while enjoying the fireworks in your favorite movie theater.

Samuel L. Jackson returns to help Tarzan save the forest, while director Steven Spielberg takes us the the land of giants for family fun. There are two foreign films that the serious movie goer will enjoy, and the family will love the latest Disney film. Finally, if you find yourself attracted to the ‘purge’ genre, ‘The Purge: Election Year’ on the silver screen this weekend will bring you to the edge of your seat.

The Innocents (2016)

In the year 1945, a polish French Red Cross doctor tasked with helping the survivors of the German camps uncovers nuns who find themselves in a family way. This is not a family film perse, but will take movie goers in an unexpected ride with unusual circumstances. If you’re a foreign film fan, this movie is for you, especially if you speak French. Our Kind of Traitor (2016)

The Legend of Tarzan (2016)

The Purge: Election Year (2016)
