Morgan Wallen Banned from CMA Awards Despite Album of the Year Nomination

Despite having an Album of the Year nomination for his Dangerous: The Double Album, Morgan Wallen has been banned from attending next month’s CMA Awards.

While Wallen, himself, has additionally been barred from nominations for any individual merit, the Academy of Country Music did not want to “limit [the] opportunity for other credited collaborators” who worked on the nominated album, ultimately keeping it in the running.

Also, as a consequence of using a racial slur on video, Wallen’s music has been blacklisted from many radio stations, had his music removed from major streaming platforms, and had his record contract suspended indefinitely.
