Berry Gordy was founder of Motown Records, and fulfilled the dream so many a young man and woman hoping for a better life. What were the monster Motown albums?

“Got to Be There” by Michael Jackson was the debut studio album of the leader of the Jackson Five, featuring “Got to Be There,” “Rockin’ Robin” and the covers to the Carole King classic “You’ve Got a Friend” and the Bill Withers’ hit “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

“Songs in the Key of Life” released in 1976 proved Stevie Wonder could musically adapt to the new sounds of the 70s, giving the world the millions selling “Isn’t She Lovely” “Sir Duke” and debuted number one on the pop charts.

“The Four Tops Greatest Hits” had all the songs that made the band an international sensation. If you could chose only one Motown album, this would be the logical choice. Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland proved the three could write the world’s preeminent songs.
