Mic Gillette, the founder of the famous Tower of Power horn section, has died at the age of 65. The Tower of Power can be heard on many of the Huey Lewis and the News, Santana, Elton John, and Rod Stewart albums. The Tower of Power had a hit of their own in the 70’s called “You’re Still a Young Man.”
“That Metal Show” featuring Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine has been cancelled after an eight year run on the MTV Classic channel. The boys will be actively looking for another television partner to continue the show.
