The world of baseball continues its extended lockout, as both the MLB owners and the MLBPA look to create a new CBA before February 28th. Starting on Monday, owners and players will plan to meet daily in order to make effective progress toward ending the lockout. A CBA must be finalized by the end of the month if the MLB wants to keep from postponing opening day.

In basketball news, there were five matchups last night.

The Los Angeles Clippers destroyed the Houston Rockets, 142-111. The Philadelphia 76ers squeaked by defending-champion Milwaukee Bucks with a score of 123-120. In a makeup game from December 21st, the Washington Wizards confidently defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 117-103. In overtime, the Miami Heat successfully defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 111-107. Finally, the most impressive performance of the evening went to Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic, as he scored 49 points in the 125-118 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
