The Rolling Stone’s Mick Jagger and Questlove, the leader of the Roots and creator of Summer of Soul (Or, When the Revolution Could Not be Televised), are teaming up to produce a four-part documentary series on the soul music legend James Brown.

Made for the A&E Network, the James Brown: Say it Loud is slated to premiere sometime next year.

Jagger described Brown as “a brilliant performer who inspired me from the beginning.”

“The life of James Brown is significant not only to understand his immense musical impact, which inspires us and other artists to this day, but also for the deep and lasting impression he has had on American culture,” Questlove said of the artist.

Peter Afterman, David Blackman, and Victoria Pearman are also executive producers, and Deborah Riley Draper is the director.
