Metallica has put together great music for us all to hear for many years now and their recent album release “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct” was much anticipated for that very reason. It was released on November 18 and on the Billboard 200 chart we see it has hit number one! This marks the sixth time the band has accomplished this feat.

This debut for the band was huge, selling 291,000 units in its first week! The album had the third largest debut of this year, it was that big. The two other albums to have done more were from huge stars in the music world, Drake and Beyonce, so there’s no shame in being number three.

Before this album, the last album from Metallica came out in 2008. It was titled “Death magnetic” and also had a monster debut on the chart. It sold 490,000 units and clearly was a number one hit in its debut.
