Meryl Streep Stars in ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’

On July 20th, the film ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ opens in theaters nation-wide, starring nearly all the original cast from the movie ‘Mamma Mia’ a surprise hit a few years ago. The film stars Lilly James, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Cher, and Amanda Seyfried, but it’s the iconic actress Meryl Streep that caught our eye.

Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Oscar an amazing 21 times, winning three times, with the most Golden Globes wins (7) and the most nominations (28). ‘Kramer vs Kramer’ made her a household name in 1979, and her performance in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ solidified her place in Hollywood royalty.

Here are a few things you may not have known about Meryl; she once worked as a hotel waitress, throughout her career she’s been turned down only a handful of roles in famous movies ‘American Gigolo,’ ‘Sweet Dreams,’ and the film ‘The Remains of the Day.’
