We mentioned the Memphis Music Hall of Fame the other day, so let’s share the list of some of the wonderful musicians that have made it to this prestigious hall…

Longtime Elvis guitarist Scotty Moore, Charlie Rich, Sam and Dave, the group Big Star, Carl Perkins and of course Elvis, Johnny Cash, Albert King, Carla Thomas, Kay Starr, Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland, Al Green, Booker T. and the MGs, B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam Phillips, Otis Redding, The Staples Singers and Issac Hayes.

There are the two recent inductees that surprised us with their inclusion in the Memphis Music Hall of Fame – ZZ Top and Justin Timberlake. The Memphis connection for ZZ Top was the Ardent Recording studio in downtown Memphis that shaped the early LPs of the band, while Justin’s connection is simple; Justin was born and raised in Memphis.

If you’re ever in the area the Museum is open for tours daily 10am to 7pm, located at the corner of legendary Second Street and Beale. For more info, log onto memphismusichalloffame
