Mel Gibson was recently on The Late Show in part to promote his new movie, “Hacksaw Ridge.” He did a great job, speaking candidly and connecting with those that watched. The best part of the entire interview with Stephen Colbert was when Colbert got him to speak about regrets in the past and advice to his younger self.

Of course Gibson would say no to Colbert’s question about regrets, but it led to a great line from Gibson on the next question about if he had any advice to the younger Mel Gibson. He would say the typical answers like “Take advantage of all the gifts the world has to offer,” but he also added “shut the f*** up.” To that answer the audience erupted with applause.

You can watch the best parts of the interview on The Late Show’s Twitter account, “@colbertlateshow.”
