Mary Ann of Gilligan’s Island is Rescued, Again

Everyone knows the words to the theme song from ‘Gilligan’s Island’ the popular 60s television series, and it’s always prompted the question “Giger or Mary Ann? Today it’s all about Mary Ann, as the 79-year-old actress is in a bit of distress of her own, drowning in hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

Dawn has fallen on hard times, and when news of her financial woes hit the press, Dugg Kirkpatrick, a friend of Wells, started a GoFundMe page for her, raising over $140,000 of its nearly $200,000 goal. For the record, Dawn is quite embarrased by the act of kindness and contributions, but flattered that people still think well of her. Dawn is now 79 and found herself in heavy debt, largely due to the 2008 financial crisis. Sadly she has no immediate family to help her in her time of need, and earlier in the year lost her home. BTW she and Ginger are the only two remaining living members of the original Gilligan’s Island cast.
