Bad Company is 40+ years old, and the boys are out again in tour. Mick Ralphs is the founder of Bad Company, born in England in 1944. Mick began playing rock and roll in the mid-60s with a band called ‘The Buddies.’ He later joined the famous (NOT) Mod Doc Thomas Group then Mott the Hoople, eventually founding Bad Company with former Free lead singer Paul Rogers.
Here are three lesser known Mick Ralphs Fun Facts:
Mick’s given birth name is Michael Geoffrey Ralphs, and other than Simon Kirke has been with the band each time they re-formed.
Kick and Paul wrote most of the Bad Company songs, but it was Mick that penned the biggest and earliest hits ‘Can’t Get Enough,” “Good Lovin Gone Bad,” and “Movin On.”
Finally, Mick was close personal friends with the late George Harrison (they were actually neighbors in Oxfordshire England) and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
