Mariah Carey has been in the music game for many years by now and is still rolling. One of the best albums she put out was released 21 years ago this week. On October 3, 1995, Mariah released “Daydream.” The album was a huge hit from the start and would eventually sell over 25 million copies across the globe!
Six singles came from the album including “Fantasy,” “Open Arms,” “Always Be My Baby,” “Forever,” “One Sweet Day” and “Underneath the Stars.” With hits like that on the album, it should come as no surprise that it would reach number one on over 10 charts spanning eight different countries.
Of all of the hits on the album it’s hard not to love “Fantasy” the most. That single debuted at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the first single from a female artist to ever do so.
