The 60s was an incredible decade that historians often describe as the ideological perfect storm that will never be repeated. Racial and gender strife, the Vietnam War, civil unrest, drug exploration and technological advances were all reflected in the music. Here are our favorite 60s albums…

‘Tommy’ by the Who, ‘Pet Sounds’ from the Beach Boys, ‘The Doors’ ‘Days of Future Passed’ from the Moody Blues, and ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’ from the Byrds all made 60s album history.

“Led Zeppelin II” from the classic group Led Zeppelin is still considered the most influential rock album of its time. Zeppelin’s biggest hit, “Whole Lotta Love,” came from that vinyl.

What can you say about “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club” by the Beatles that hasn’t already been said? The album became a left turn for traditional Beatles fans while changing FM radio and the music industry forever. The Beatles also released ‘Revolver’ ‘Rubber Soul’ and ‘Abbey Road’ during their dominance in the 60s.

“Highway 61 Revisited” came at the peak of folk/rock and ushered Bob Dylan to super status with his thought-provoking single “Like a Rolling Stone.”
