Kelly Clarkson Prepping for Soul/R&B Album in 2017

Kelly Clarkson has signed a contract with Atlantic in hopes of putting together a soul/R&B album next year. Yes, you heard us right. She’s moving on from RCA Records, who she has been signed with since 2002, and is moving to Atlantic on a long-term deal.

She says that she has started working on this soul/R&B album and that it has always been something she has wanted to do since she was young.

With RCA she was quite successful, recording and releasing seven albums that were top three hits on the Billboard 200. She also won three Grammys. It is definitely a bold move to change labels like this, but Kelly is not only extremely smart and talented, but is at a point in her career where she can take these kinds of chances.
