Social media is a huge part of music and artists being able to reach their fans. Katy Perry certainly knows this and has always been a great follow on Twitter. Well, just recently she became the first Twitter user to hit 100 million followers on this form of social media.
This was such a cool moment that Twitter even got in on the fun! They tweeted out “Today, we #WITNESS history. Congratulations @katyperry, the first to reach 100 million followers #LoveKaty.”
100 million is quite the number and it all started back in 2009. It took her three years to get to 50 million followers and at this point in time if a few million ahead of Justin Bieber.
