Katy Perry at the VMAs

Katy Perry isn’t nominated for any awards at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, but we’re reminded of her brilliance because of another artist, Beyonce. Beyonce has become the second artist ever to have four different videos nominated at this award show. The only other artist to do so is Katy Perry!

In 2011, Katy was nominated for 10 awards at this show with four different music videos doing all the work. Those four huge hits included “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” E.T.” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F).” Shockingly, she would win just three of those 10 nominations, but it was an amazing feat nonetheless. In total, she has been nominated 24 times at this award show, but has only taken home five pieces of hardware.
