Katie Couric Joins NBC Olympic Coverage as Co-Host

NBC paid over $900 million dollars the right to exclusively broadcast the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games which gets underway February 9th, ending February 25th. We now hear that former NBC star and CBS news anchor Katie Couric will be returning to NBC to add her talents to the television overage, coming on board as the co-host for the opening ceremonies. Her partner for the opening coverage will be Mike Tirico.

Katie Couric has plenty of Olympic experience, hosting the opening ceremonies for the Olympics in Sydney, Salt Lake City, and Athens, Greece. The opening ceremonies for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang are being broadcast on tape delay during prime time, streaming live however at 6 am Est, on February 9th, on NBC.
