The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards this past Sunday on CBS had been dissected, discussed, and criticized for being nothing more than a political program, leaning left. That may the case, but there were two takeaways; women were front and center on the winner’s list, and ‘SNL’ had a fine night.

Kate McKinnon, the versatile actress that portrayed Hillary during the Presidential campaign earned an Emmy for Outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series. Kate is from suburban New York City, graduating from Columbia University in 2006 where she started the university’s comedy ensemble; quickly discovering her real talent.

This recent Emmy win is just another moment of recognition; she’s also won an American Comedy and Critic’s Choice award. Kate has starred in big Hollywood films like ‘Ghostbusters,’ and ‘Office Christmas Party,’ and has a major role in the upcoming film ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me,’ due to be released in early July of 2018.
