Kanye West, Ashanti and More Featured on Summer Sound Waves

With vacation season drawing to a close, music fans can fire up their devices starting today and create their own endless summer by surfing through the UMe Summer Sound Waves playlist, which features a sultry selection of late 90s – early 2000s pop, rock and hip-hop. The adventure includes music across all genres, and is the perfect playlist for your quarantine barbecues.

One of the showcased songs is “Happy” by Ashanti. “Happy” was recorded for her self-titled debut album. The song was released as the album’s second single on May 21, 2002. It was written by Ashanti, Chink Santana, and Irv Gotti, with production overseen by Santana and Gotti. “Happy” reached number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number six on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Elsewhere, the single entered the top 10 in the Netherlands, while reaching the top 20 in Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
