It was quite the historic win tonight for the Kansas Jayhawks as they took how a close defeat against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the 2022 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament, 72-69.

With this win, the Jayhawks achieve their fourth national championship, as they also won the ultimate game in 2008, 1988, and 1982.

The Jayhawks also strived with rebounds, as guard Christian Braun captured 11 defensive rebounds and one offensive rebound. With only seconds left, the Jayhawks took a 72-69 lead and played tremendous defense to prevent the Tar Heels from scoring a three-point play to send the national championship game not overtime.

Thanks to David McCormack’s critical scoring, Kansas rallied from a 16-point deficit to win the game, officially besting the 15-point comeback Loyola-Chicago took over Cincinnati in 1963.

While North Carolina had many highlights throughout the tournament, Forward Armando Bascot showed to be an incredible all-around player as he scored 15 points, secured 15 rebounds, and had two assists in the championship game last night.
