On Thursday morning, October 24th, Selena Gomez fans rejoiced across the globe with the news that the pop iconic star will be releasing a new album in the near future. In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Gomez expressed that the wait will be worth it. “More than anything I think I feel a sense of relief,” Gomez said about finally gearing up to release the as-yet-untitled album.

“It’s been four years since I’ve been working on this album and it’s actually perfect timing because I was going to release it two years ago and none of the words that I’m speaking would have existed,” she explained. And while Gomez didn’t dive much deeper into the inspiration for the two singles fans have been gifted this week — “Look at Her Now” and “Lose You to Love Me” — both songs are filled with clear-eyed lyrics about love, loss, betrayal and the hard journey to loving yourself again.

Although Gomez has yet to release any details on the release date or title of the album, the pop star promised that there is plenty more to come. “All I know is these two songs were me wrapping up a chapter in a pretty little bow and the rest of the album is all about where I am now and where I’m going,” she said. “So, in my opinion, these are great songs, but I’ve save the best for later.”
