So you want to kick the holiday fun and frolic up a notch, eh? Mood Fabrics reports that “2018 is the year of the bird, at least where designers are concerned.”  A feather trim, earrings or even a totally covered handbag all add a delightful touch of whimsy to any winter ensemble.  Or go for it with an all-out feather skirt or coat.  Opt for sleek black for a more dramatic look, bold colors to make a statement, or try pastel hues if you’d rather lighten things up.

Feathers have been featured in fashion since the beginning of time, but they’ve been mounting in popularity this year. Feathers are showing up everywhere, from resort to couture to ready-to-wear and even in bridal fashion as the best way to really make a statement.  In fact, this year’s runways were simply covered in feather chic from Valentino, Chanel and Saint Laurent to Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and Ralph & Russo.  From simple trim to entire skirts of down, it appears all the top designers have been getting their creative juices flowing with feathers.

It would seem that everything old is new again as feathered fashion takes flight.
