Huey Lewis and the News is on tour this summer! Yes, the 80s super band that gave you “I Want a New Drug,” “Jacob’s Ladder,” “The Power of Love” and “Heart and Soul” are back. These tunes were all top selling singles from Huey Lewis and the News that still sound great today. Did you know that Huey’s real name is Hugh Anthony Cregg III?
Huey Lewis led the lawsuit against Ray Parker Jr for similarities between Ray’s “Gostbuster” theme and Huey’s “I Want a New Drug” song.
Finally, one of the bands biggest songs, “Power of Love,” appeared in the ‘Back to the Future’ movie. Huey initially told the producers he was going to pass when asked to write a song for the movie. We’re glad he didn’t.
