The Eagles were one of the biggest bands in the 70s because they captured the Folk Rock sound so well. The boys in the band have sold over 140 million records, 42 million for their ‘Greatest Hits’ LP alone!

Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner primarily knew each other as the backup and road band for Linda Ronstadt in the early 70s, but broke away to start a new band called the Eagles. What was their signature 70s album?

‘Desperado,’ their 2nd album, was recorded in London, containing the single “Desperado” which grew the band fan base to women and admirers of the west. In what can be described as politically incorrect today, the bodies lying in front of the band on the back of the album contain J.D. Souther, Jackson Browne, the band’s manager and the artist responsible for the album cover.

The band (which included Joe Walsh who joined the band a few albums in) eventually made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, earning 6 Grammy Awards, entering the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001, while being honored at the Kennedy Center in December of 2015 – Glenn would die a month later in 2016.
