How Alecia Moore Became P!nk

P!nk the singer confessed last week that her Instagram account had been hacked. Not to worry, we don’t think anyone noticed.

Alecia Beth Moore was born on September 8 1979, growing up in a little old Doyleston, PA. Her mother was a nurse, her father a car salesman. Her father is Catholic while her mother Jewish, the family suffered a contentious divorce as Alecia was nine; her early wiring reflects the pain of a broken home. P!nk as we know her now, began to perform at clubs in Philly at the age of 14, jumping from band to band along the way in her formative years.

She joined an all-girl group called ‘Basic Instinct’ a platform that put her right on front for all the lead vocals. Sadly the band broke up, giving her the opportunity to join yet another Philadelphia teenage girl trio called ‘Choice’ a more commercially successful group that landed her great deal of attention and a record deal with a prestigious label from Atlanta.

P!nk is now worth close to $50 million, earning over $1 million per performance. She gave birth to her only child thus far, a baby girl born June 2, 2011 named Willow Sage Hart.
