Hollywood seems to be fighting fall football and family weekend plans, as the movies this past weekend brought in soft box office numbers.

The film ‘The House With A Clock In Its Walls starring Jack Black is expected to finish first shown in 3,500 venues and taking over $20 million at the box office, with ‘A Simple Favor’ the odd film ‘The Nun’ the latest reprisal of ‘The Predator’ Michael Moore’s ‘Fahrenheit 11/9’ the highly successful ‘Crazy Rich Asians,’ ‘Life Itself,’ ‘White Boy Rick’ starring Matthew McConaughey, ‘Peppermint’ featuring Jennifer Gardner, and ‘The Meg’ rounding out the top 10.

‘Love Gilda’ ‘The Sisters Brothers’ and ‘Colette’ all opened with respectable numbers but were again soft in revenues.
