Heart’s Ann & Nancy Wilson Gear up for Upcoming Summer Tour

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart spoke to in an interview regarding the massive summer tour they’re gearing up for with Joan Jett, Sheryl Crow and many more.

Hours before their NYC show, Nancy Wilson said “In this era that we’re in right now, it’s time for women to unite, empower each other, work together and present, and kind of update the culture a little bit — and show strength and togetherness, and turn it up louder,”.

“One of the things I’m looking forward to the most this summer with the tour is the women getting up there, but also each woman has this incredible band with them,” added Ann. “There’ll be lots of men up onstage, so you’ll have the two genders working together to do this thing, which is what we’re really working for in the culture.”

The tour will kick off on July 9 in St. Louis, and will feature support from Joan Jett, Elle King, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow and other guitar-slinging powerhouses on select dates.

The powerhouses were asked about new material, and here’s what they had to say: “There’s a couple of ideas banging around!” says Nancy. “We have to get into rehearsal and figure it out. We want to do stuff people want to hear, but we also want to reinterpret some stuff and maybe do something surprising.”
