Let’s take another trip this summer. How about we pack the car with the kids and head off to the North West…

Our first stop is the state of Idaho. Paul Revere and the Raiders hit the charts with well written songs that had a catchy beat. “Good Thing,” “Him or Me,” and “Kicks” were Billboard 100 songs from the mid-60s to the e3arly 70s. Mark Lindsey is still amongst the living, but sadly keyboardist and name sake Paul Revere died in 2015.

We need to get gas in the state of Colorado to read all about the group ‘Sugarloaf.’ The band, originally known as ‘Chocolate Hair,’ was born in Denver in late 1969, starring its founders Jerry Corbetta and Bob Webber. “Green Eyed Lady” and “Don’t Call Us” from 1974 were it biggest singles.

Our last stop of the night is the ‘Show Me’ state of Missouri. The Ozark Mountain Daredevils started playing proms and school dances in the early 70s, forming in Springfield MO. “Jackie Blue,” and ‘If You Want to Get to Heaven” were the biggest single from the group, sustaining their careers for over 20 years.

The Jordanaires were from the big MO, as were Chuck Berry, and the Doobie Brothers very own Michael McDonald.

The famous rapper Eminem (Marshall Mathers III) was born in St. Joseph, MO although when we think of where he’s from we always think Detroit, Michigan.
