Britney Spears is alive and kicking today, but there were tweets sent out early Monday that suggested otherwise. Sony’s Twitter account was hacked early Monday morning, tweeting out messages like “britney spears is dead by accident! We will tell you more soon #RIPBritney” and “RIP @britneyspears.”
We are happy to announce that neither tweet is true and Britney is healthy. Sony Music would release a statement saying that their account was hacked and apologized for it happening. They also apologized to the fan base of Britney Spears and Britney herself of course.
OurMine is apparently behind the hacking, taking responsibility for those tweets a little later on in the morning. They are a hacking group that has popped up over the past year or so.
