Green Day has decided to cancel their upcoming concert at Moscow’s Spartak Stadium over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“We are aware that this moment is not about stadium rock shows, it’s so much bigger than that,” the band wrote in an Instagram post explaining the cancelation.

The concert was set to take place on May 29th at the arena in Russia’s capital. The audience capacity of the venue is over 45 thousand.

“We also know that rock and roll is forever,” Green Day continued in their statement. “And we feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future.”

As of right now, the Moscow date has been removed from the band’s website, and no further details about rescheduling have been revealed.
