We’ve been talking about great songs used on the Silver Screen. We consider these hits to be filed under the ‘Great Songs on the Silver Screen.’ Let’s take a look at part two…

Mike Nichols produced the 70 classic “The Graduate” and used Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence”, and “Mrs. Robinson.” The music made the movie that much better, and propelled Simon and Garfunkel to ultimate stardom.

“Night Fever, “Staying Alive,” “How Deep is Your Love” and “If I can’t Have You” were memorable songs heard in the movie, performed by the Bee Gees and Yvonne Elliman. This movie was a bellwether moment for Hollywood and disco, and solidified the Bee Gees careers.

Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were” was the best song ever, from the most romantic move of its time, featuring Robert Redford and Streisand. This movie and song have taken a life of their own and still command the respect it so richly deserves.
