Stonewall Jackson passed away on Saturday morning after a “long battle” with vascular dementia. He was 89-years-old.

Jackson, who was born in North Carolina and grew up in Georgia, was the Grand Ole Opry’s most tenured member at 65 years. Some of the honky-tonk singer’s biggest hits include “Waterloo,” “Don’t Be Angry,” and “B.J. the D.J.”

Jackson’s Wife, Juanita Wair Jackson, died in 2019. They are both survived by their son, Stonewall Jr., and two grandchildren.
