Grammy for R&B Album goes to H.E.R.

Last night, just moments after dazzling the Grammy audience with a spellbinding, breakout performance, H.E.R.,born Gabriella Wilson, took home the Grammy award for best R&B album, thanks to her 2017 self-titled project.

H.E.R. was R&B’s only nominee represented in the “big four” categories, and she definitely looked surprised and speechless when her name was called out by the K-Pop superstars, BTS.

Wilson thanked God, her family, her label, and all other members of her team. “Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and for embracing my talents since I was a little girl,” she said, saluting her family and noting she’d been signed to RCA since age 14. She also pointed out that the award-winning self-titled project isn’t technically an album; it’s a compilation of two previous EPs and a handful of additional songs.
