Colors are so important for your home, they affect your mood and can completely transform a space.

“The pendulum is swinging from crisp white, softly textural Scandinavian-inspired Hygge back to vivid, high-contrast patterns and big statement mixing of materials and scale. As the volume continues to turn up in the world around us, people will continue to become more daring with their interior choices,” says interior designer Emilie Munroe.

Colors seem to be popping up all over, especially towards the blue and green end of the color palette. Though green is a playful pop of color, it looks clean and finished, which is a perfect neutral alternative. And, bonus, it goes great with the natural wood elements in a room. And when you think of blues, think of blue jeans, and blue jeans go with everything! It’s a great bold color that still acts as a somewhat neutral.

Plus painting the walls a vibrant color may just be the thing to lift you out of those winter doldrums.  Just carefully consider the room you choose to go bold. Colors often look darker in rooms with less light, and would have the opposite effect you’re going for.
